Tutoring

“Tell me and I forget, teach me and I may remember, involve me and I learn.”
― Benjamin Franklin

Are you are concerned about your child’s academic performance? Has completing homework become a daily battle? Is organization of long term projects a challenge? Is your child losing interest in books because reading is such a struggle?

At the Wellness and Learning Group, we understand that no two individuals learn the same way. Clients are carefully matched with tutors who are most suited to meet their educational goals and learning strengths. Kingsbury tutors can provide a broad range of support, and they have particular expertise in the development of reading and writing skills.

Each student is given an individualized tutoring plan that targets particular skills, defines a working strategy, and identifies instructional methods and materials. Lessons are designed to build on the client’s strengths and interests so that his or her learning experience is exciting, meaningful and satisfying.

  • Kingsbury tutors have expertise in reading and writing, from Elementary through Middle School and beyond.
  • Our tutors are carefully selected for their educational background, specialized skills and dedication. They have mastered the strategies and tools needed to help children and adults achieve their learning goals.  Many are trained in Orton Gillingham, Lindamood Bell, and Wilson Reading.
  • Our tutors will work in the setting that best fits your needs, whether it is at home, at The Kingsbury Center, or at other convenient locations throughout the Greater DC area.
  • Our NEW Homework Lounge offers daily homework support from tutors after school and allows for home to be a place of rest and relaxation.
